Well Girl!!! I will admit t a skim, but the skim really kinda started at the Irish Rovers, the first record I ever purchased or rather harassed my parents into buying was the Unicorn song on side A and side B A dark velvet band.
As with most people we are a busy bunch, while I have cold weather too, I now live in Alberta and we know cold minus sixty last year was the worst and those are the days the oven bakes and roasts things all day, I pull my Great Gran's oil lamps from Brant County, Mom's oil lamps from Muskoka and the mine that I have collected. PTSD after ice storms as a kid, we have a fireplace as well I am never being inconvenienced by no power again.
My dad was a teacher he passed years ago but taught me to love knowledge, and made me a library brat. I volunteered on our library board up until a few years ago, the politics behind the whole educational and access to information is jaw dropping. I still volunteer with the library but now as a presenter and not a board member, programming especially free programming is so needed. I now have eight presentations that I have done, they want me to repeat the cycle again because the interestt is still there. So, seed saving 101, gardening in containers, plant propagation 101, 12 Herbs and a fungus, local herbal plants id and usage, the next twelve, these from our gardens, beauty and the bath the use of herbs in the bath, the apothecary, and dyeing with natural materials
At home I have one husband who can quote you a stat on any sports team or game you want, he can do the same with movies and music up until about the early nineties then he became very selective. He and our son went to see Roger Waters in Edmonton, we went and saw Frampton for our anniversary. It makes him crazy that the first concerts that I went to at ages nine and ten were concerts and artists he would cross molten lava in barefeet to see, I was a kid more interested in these grown ups that had to put up with me while the others were busy. You would be amazed the places kids can get into cause ...kid and I took full advantage growing up
I see that you teach in Toronto, That must really be a challenge, I cannot imagine the parents are any easier to deal with than they were when my kids were in school. Oh yes I have four boys and a girl, between them and the library, school systems are not what they could be shall we be diplomatic and say just that. So much of public policy seems to be focused on private companies not the public good but I am a left leaning centrist, which means I get to tell them that they are all wrong but some things are good Ideas just...maybe flesh them out with details , plans, and an outline of goals just like they are supposed to. We out here just hear a lot of complaining and whining and victimhood no plans but lots of feels that seem to get hurt by the slightest breeze. If you can catch the first episode of snowflake mountain you would totally appreciate their faces

Happy New Year to you, Annie!
P.S. Do you think my "Canada is not for sale" slogan is becoming outdated? Or is it still ok?
