You're welcome :)
He's one of my favourite actors! The last few films he has been in recently have been amazing! He was exceptional in Django Unchained and The Great Gatsby.
I'm Yusuf by the way ^^ nice to meet you!

But it is a very lovely film and its definitely set in a very interesting period of Indonesian history
not a problem , its good talking to you Syahnita :D
At that time in my life I was reading lots of books on South East Asia to improve my knowledge about the region , especially Vietnam and Vietnamese history ...
I also love this film that is a love story based in Indonesia during the time of Suharto and the troubles with the communist party and the muslims .... maybe you have seen it , its a beautiful film ... its called "The year of living dangerously"
here is the link to the trailer

I mean for example if you look at ancient civilizations like the Ancient Egyptians or the Greeks and Romans of the Mediterranean or the Aztecs and Mayans of Mexico and Meso- America .... These peoples had many gods that they worshiped ... but it seems that even though there were lots of god's they were all just manifestations of one overall god that they often didn't define very clearly but that they clearly believed in...
But there are two books of his that I didn't like and that I definitely dont recommend.
One of them is "Memories of my melancholy whores" , I really didnt like this book .... I mean its about a pedophile who falls in love with a 12 year old girl .... I just felt really sickened by that book and I didnt like it at all...
The other book is "The general in his labyrinth" , I didn't hate this book , but I just thought it could have been so much more better considering its subject .... Its about Simon Bolivar , the 18th century hero and liberator of South America against colonial Spain .... Bolivar is one of my hero's and I thought Marquez could have written his story on such a deeper level ...
But two of his other books that I also really love are "Of Love and other Demons" (This is probably my favourite book by Marquez next to "love in the times of Cholera") and also I loved "Autumn of the patriach" which is about a fictional Latin American dictator based on the real life dictators like Pinochet , Trujillo etc. ( but the character could represent any dictator , anywhere in the world from history including General Suharto)
A very old man with enormous wings
The handsomest drowned man in the world
When you read these stories let me know what you think of them , because they are full of interesting metaphor's for the realities of Latin American culture/history and it would be cool to hear what you think of them ;)
