Oh I love mythology! Greek, Asian, Norse, Egyptian, Native American I enjoy anything related to myths and legends.
I am currently reading about the treasure fleet of Zheng He. He was amazing!
As far as time periods go....I change by the day. The United States is a fairly young country so I enjoy our history, but going farther back I would say I enjoy time periods based on the continent I am studying for example Asian I would say the time of the Samurai and the unification by Nobunaga is my favorite, Europe is hard. It's a tie between the time of Alexander the Great and the time of the Medici..
